Foshan City
Located in the heart of the Pearl River
Delta of Guangdong Province, Foshan abuts
Guangzhou to the east, and is adjacent to
Hong Kong and Macao to the south. It is
the third largest city of Guangdong Province,
with an area of 3,813 square kilometers
and a population of 3.36 million. It now

The economic development speed and economic
strength of Foshan rank the front in Guangdong
Province and even in China. In 2003, its
GDP reached RMB 138.139 billion, an increase
of 16.1% than that of last year; its total
industry output reached RMB 329.725 billion,
an increase of 23.2%; its total export value
was US$ 10.23 billion, an increase of 29.6%;
its actual utilization of foreign investment
was US$ 1.24 billion, an increase of 23.7%,
with FDI amounting to US$ 1.225 billion,
an increase of 24.6%.

of the city accounts for 15% of the
global total; that of building ceramics
